THANKS M. K.! YOU'RE GREAT!Although that I agree with other readers that the end could feel a bit rushed (mainly because I don't want the book to end), I think she has tied the losen threads of the previous books nicely. Example: It was mentioned in "A Grim Holliday" that Ull will be sent to Earth, now we know why: to trade intel for chocolate, off course ;D
Now, we sit and wait, not only for Callen&Rebecca's book (and Nihkhil&Mac's baby), but for Ull&WhoKnows (maybe a boyfriend instead of a girl? Ull still feels undefined to me) and for Liron&A-refugee-from-the-other-sip that helps him to unveil the plot against his empire?
AND... I think that -maybe- Gryf is still alive in that little planet with atmosphere in the asteroid cloud where the enemy ships where hiding... they have to have some bunkers there. But he is not alone, because: what was in that cargo hold that he must show instead of tell to Treyvon? Why the secrecy? I'm thinking that he find not another terran but an exotic rashan, that race of wich we know nothing except there is a border fight with the kaliszians and that there are warriors too...
Oh, my! To wait, again for the next! ;D

Treyvon Kaliszians Book 2 edition by MK Eidem Romance eBooks Reviews
I loved this book!! I started reading it and didn't stop until I finished it (yes that also means I didn't sleep last night)! I love this universe! So many questions were answered in this book Will "Elite Warrior" Parlan get his comeuppance? Who was the female Parlan was plotting with? Will Jen and Kim be reunited? Will Jen's body ever fully heal? Will Jen use her cooking skills to help the Kaliszians?
There are so many new (extremely well written) plots unfurled in this book that I'm already frothing at the mouth for more!!!
All I can say is GET THIS BOOK! It's so worth it!
On a side note I've noticed some people complaining about various editing issues in the past books. While I have noticed them, to me, they haven't detracted from my overall enjoyment of the story. I will say that while I noticed some in this book, there aren't nearly as many as there have been in previous books.
Not a standalone. This is more a spinoff series as well. Should start with Wray and then Grim. Or reverse it (they can be read in either order). Nikhil should be the 3rd book before this (the first in this actual series). Ynyr and Oryon are both after Wray and Grim (in their series) but not needed to read this book.
MK Eidem might be one of my favorite world builders. I really love the places she creates. My favorite of her stories is Grim followed closely by Ynyr. That said, this was perhaps my least favorite of her books to date. It wasn't bad. I liked Treyvon. Jennifer, however, was a bit too damaged for me.
The general slow plotting makes sense. The fact that the H and h don't get together until about 60% in makes sense for the story (especially Jennifer's). But... She is a character I find very difficult to understand/relate to on any level. Especially in the beginning when she insists on keeping her scares claiming it doesn't matter (okay... but if it can fixed...). I found her entire attitude somewhat martyr-like and annoying (while still understanding that yes, she was traumatized - okay - I lack sympathy).
Pros Once H and h get together, they are really good together and the book stops being quite such a frustrating downer. Several plot lines are pushed forward. Maybe a SPOILER but its my favorite part so it really should be mentioned Jen challenges Wray about what a good ruler he could possibly be if there was a law that allowed his males to attack non-Torrinians and he didn't realize it. This almost ruined the book Wray for me (because I couldn't really like/respect Wray after this). I feel like Wray got off way too lightly for his general neglect as a ruler.
I'm hoping that MKE does a story (even if a short one) about a non titled and/or non wealthy male getting his woman. It would also be great to see some more overall plot movement in the next book. It was not my favorite that MKE had a romance that dragged like this, but I feel like there could have been then more developed in the universal plotline than what was.... There can only be so much talk about stew and biscuit recipes... It was a bit much. Still worth reading. I will likely not buy the audio as I typically do with her books, though (they are great listens - I can't recommend them enough).
Even though I really like her books, I have to take off a star for editing. Come on, by this time there should be no errors! She has written many books and has a great voice. There is no excuse for not getting a professional editor at this point. It is almost like a friend edits but gives up correcting grammatical and usage mistakes by the time they reach last quarter of the book.
Some may feel this is petty, but it is incredibly distracting and ridiculous for a published work we have purchased at full price.
Also, just a small criticism, but I notice that to make the female characters appear strong, the characters react by shouting and being angry. While I understand they may have legitimate grievances, it often feels ill-placed. Why would you yell at the messenger ? Furthermore one that has been kind and sweet? (Mac yelling at Maysa about patient privacy). It makes them seem childish rather than strong. There are so many other ways those situations could be described or handled that would make them appear like strong, forceful women without them looking brat-ish.
